Juvederm vs Voluma: Which is Better for You?

Juvederm and Voluma are two popular dermal fillers used to restore facial volume and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid-based filler that can last up to a year, while Voluma is a thicker filler that can last up to two years. Both Juvederm and Voluma come in gel form and are injected into precise facial areas. Voluma has a thicker texture than Juvederm, which helps provide a more significant cheek lift and create sustainable facial volume.

It is injected deeper into the skin than Juvederm, making it ideal for restoring cheek contours. Juvederm Ultra Plus is also thicker than Juvederm, but not as thick as Voluma. It works best for deeper nasolabial folds and cheeks. All fillers may take a few days to set in their final form.

It's normal to have a small amount of swelling, tenderness, and bruising. Use an ice pack and avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, and other pain relievers that could make bruising worse for one week before and two days after the injection. Juvederm contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic that reduces pain during injection. Your doctor may also use a topical numbing cream to make you more comfortable.

Injectables such as Juvederm and Voluma can deliver younger-looking results with relatively few side effects, and they also don't require any downtime after treatment. However, it's important to note that the results are not permanent. Juvederm Voluma XC is the newest non-surgical filler from Allergan, the makers of Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus XC and Botox. It is specifically formulated to add volume to the cheek area or the middle of the face.

When deciding between Juvederm and Voluma, it's important to consider your individual needs and goals. If you're looking for a more significant cheek lift or longer-lasting results, Voluma may be the better choice for you. However, if you're looking for a more subtle effect or shorter-lasting results, Juvederm may be the better option.
